Interface Polymers has secured £2m in an investment round led by 24Haymarket. The capital will be used by the company to scale up production and further develop its product applications across several industries.
The business focuses on polyethylene-based additives designed to combine with polar polymers such as polyethylene terephthalate and polystyrene. Its technology targets applications including the elimination of tie layers in packaging and the recycling of mixed plastic waste.
Phil Smith, chief executive officer at Interface Polymers, noted strong interest from overseas customers waiting to trial the company additives.
