iGii secures £8.8m in funding to expand nanomaterial manufacturing

The investment was led by the Scottish National Investment Bank with backing from Archangel Investors and Par Equity.

£8.8M

A Stirling-based nanomaterial producer that manufactures Gii, a patented carbon-based 3D foam designed for high-performance sensing applications.

Stirling-based nanomaterial producer iGii has secured £8.8m in new funding to scale its manufacturing capabilities and accelerate commercial projects. The financing round was led by the Scottish National Investment Bank with a £4m contribution, alongside participation from existing backers Archangel Investors and Par Equity.

The capital will be deployed to expand manufacturing facilities for Gii-Sens, the company component used in point-of-care diagnostic sensors, and to deepen research into additional applications including water quality and battery storage technologies. This follows the appointment of chief executive officer Jean-Christophe Granier in late 2023.
