Hexis secures £1.6m in pre-seed funding from APEX and Sport Republic to advance sports nutrition technology

Hexis develops artificial intelligence driven nutrition and fuelling technology for athletes. The platform provides real time personalised dietary plans to optimise physical performance and recovery.
Hexis has secured £1.6m in a pre-seed funding round led by APEX and Sport Republic. The company plans to use the capital to develop its technology infrastructure, expand its platform capabilities and forge new partnerships across the sports industry.
The round also attracted backing from Dopamine Sport Ventures, alongside a group of Tour de France stage winners and Olympic medallists. The injection of funds follows a period of growth for the sports technology firm, which uses its proprietary Carb Coding system to deliver real time nutritional guidance to competitors.
Leadership at Hexis includes chief executive and co-founder Dr David Dunne, alongside Dr Sam Impey and Professor James Morton. The company's advisory board features former Science in Sport chief executive Stephen Moon.
