Helio Display Materials develops proprietary perovskite technology to improve the brightness, colour gamut and energy efficiency of screens. The British firm is the first joint spin-out from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
Helio Display Materials has secured £3.6m in Series A funding led jointly by Longwall Venture Partners and BGF. The capital will support a significant expansion of the team and a relocation to custom-built laboratories at the Wood Centre for Innovation in Oxford.
The company is applying its perovskite science to enhance display performance and efficiency, targeting the global display module market. Chief Executive Simon Jones noted that the financing marks a shift in scale, enabling the firm to build its product design capacity and engage partners across the supply chain.
