£7.7MSeries A

Healx is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that uses artificial intelligence to discover and develop treatments for rare diseases. Based in Cambridge, the organisation combines advanced drug discovery techniques with a growing clinical pipeline.

Healx has secured £7.7m in a Series A funding round led by Balderton Capital. The investment also drew participation from existing backers including Jonathan Milner and Amadeus Capital Partners. The company applies artificial intelligence and pharmacological expertise to identify new uses for existing drugs, cutting development timelines for rare disease treatments.

Funds raised from the round will be used to expand the firm's multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and pharmacologists, as well as to further develop its machine learning technologies. The capital arrives as the company builds on successful collaborations with patient groups such as FRAXA for Fragile-X Syndrome.
