Healx raises £43.9m in Series B financing led by Atomico to expand its rare disease treatment pipeline

The financing round was led by Atomico with participation from several returning and new investors.

Healx is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that uses artificial intelligence to discover and develop treatments for rare diseases. Based in Cambridge, the organisation combines advanced drug discovery techniques with a growing clinical pipeline.

Cambridge-based Healx has secured £43.9m in Series B funding to scale its rare disease treatment pipeline and launch a new global accelerator programme. The financing round was led by Atomico, with participation from Intel Capital, Global Brain, and btov Partners. Previous backers Balderton Capital, Amadeus Capital Partners, and Jonathan Milner also contributed to the raise.

The capital will be directed towards building out the company's clinical-stage portfolio, which includes ongoing work on treatments for fragile X syndrome. Additionally, the funds support the rollout of the Rare Treatment Accelerator, an initiative designed to partner with patient communities and bring clinic-ready treatments forward within a twenty-four-month window.
