Hartley Ultrafast has secured £500k in pre-seed funding to accelerate its optoelectronic computing technology. The round was led by Strange Ventures, with participation from Sowing Capital and OVC Ventures.

The capital will support the company as it scales its operations following a recent rebrand and the unveiling of its demonstrator machine, Babbage. Hartley Ultrafast intends to maintain its focus on product and commercial development.

The raise was completed in just six weeks via the ThatRound platform, highlighting the growing demand for low-latency AI infrastructure and hardware solutions.
