Hands In raises £440k from payment industry leaders to accelerate the commercialisation of its group payment technology.

Hands In

The funding round draws backing from executives across GoCardless, Thredd, Elavon, and other major financial services firms to support commercial growth.

£440K

Hands In is a fintech platform providing split payment solutions that integrate into checkout pages to reduce cart abandonment. The company enables multi-card transactions for merchants across travel, ticketing, and hospitality.

London payments startup Hands In has secured £440k in funding from prominent figures within the payments sector, including executives from GoCardless, Thredd, Elavon, FIS, Pay.com, PayU, Curve, and Free Trade. The capital will be deployed to accelerate the commercialisation of the company group payment services, support global enterprise clients and payment partners, and develop new products and services for broader use cases.

The company addresses checkout friction for group purchases, a particular challenge in the tourism sector where a significant proportion of bookings are made by younger travellers. By allowing multiple participants to pay simultaneously without money leaving accounts until all have opted in, the plug and play platform reduces transaction failures for online travel agencies and airlines.

Founder and chief executive Samuel Flynn noted that legacy infrastructure costs often prevent large operators from building such capabilities internally, creating demand for a layer that sits on top of existing systems. With agreements already established with major travel operators, the startup intends to use the injection of capital to scale its operations and extend its market reach.

From the founder

"Research confirmed that the issue faced was universal, with up to 20% of travel bookings failing at checkout as a result. However, for many online travel agencies and airlines, building this solution on top of complex legacy infrastructure can be too expensive and time-consuming. Large players are looking for a solution that sits across their existing payment infrastructure, and that is exactly what Hands In provides."

Investor perspective

"There are few and far between solutions in the payments industry that address customer needs with simplicity and are easy for operators and merchants to integrate and offer. Hands In is one of the few companies that possesses this capability."
