GRYD Energy secures £1m pre-seed funding from Black Seed and SFC Capital to drive national expansion.
The pre-seed round will fund national expansion and the deployment of zero-cost solar and battery systems.
GRYD Energy is a solar technology startup that provides a subscription model to install and maintain photovoltaic and battery systems on residential properties without upfront hardware costs. The company works with housing developers and local authorities to integrate renewable energy into new-build homes across the UK.
GRYD Energy has secured £1m in pre-seed funding to support its national expansion and deploy zero-cost solar and battery systems across the UK. The round was backed by investors including Black Seed, SFC Capital, Oasthouse Ventures, and private investor Richard Thwaites.
The fresh capital will be directed towards key hires, new energy import and export partnerships, and the expansion of flexibility services designed to increase customer savings. The company intends to scale its service to 30,000 new-build homes over the next three years.
Founded in 2023, the London-based business operates a solar subscription model aimed at removing the high initial expense of renewable hardware for homeowners and developers. The firm recently completed a pilot project in Cornwall and secured an energy export agreement with Good Energy.
