The early-stage round was led by AlbionVC to support the company's growth in clean energy software.
Gridcog provides software for modelling and optimising complex clean energy and fleet electrification projects across multiple markets.
Gridcog has secured £3.3m in a funding round led by AlbionVC to accelerate its expansion across the UK and Europe. The company provides a software platform that helps businesses model, simulate, and optimise renewable energy and storage investments across multiple sites and markets. The new capital will be deployed to support the firm's growth across fast-growing regions and further its mission of making clean energy investments more commercially viable.
The business was founded in 2020 by repeat entrepreneurs Pete Tickler and Fabian Le Gay Brereton, drawing on their background in energy and carbon monitoring platforms. Gridcog's software is utilised by major industrial and energy players including Shell, Origin Energy, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, having seen rapid customer growth across the UK and Europe over the past year.
From the founder
"The energy transition is a truly global revolution and Gridcog has always been committed to that global mission. Driven by climate change and renewed commitment to transition away from fossil fuels at the recent COP28 conference, the world is switching to solar, wind and batteries for electricity generation, whilst transport, heat and chemical processes are being electrified. This makes the energy transition the biggest and fastest infrastructure replacement project in history, and Gridcog is here to help achieve it"
