£2.0MSeries A

Grid Edge develops artificial intelligence software that optimises energy consumption and reduces carbon emissions for commercial buildings. Its platform integrates data from multiple sources to automate operational recommendations for property managers.

Cleantech start-up Grid Edge has secured £2m in a Series A follow-on funding round. The investment was backed by bp ventures, Goldacre, and Aston University, and will support the company as it expands its team, develops new products, and reaches new customers over the coming months.

The fresh capital arrives as businesses face mounting pressure to address environmental impact, particularly given that commercial spaces account for a significant share of global carbon emissions. Grid Edge plans to use the resources to scale its operations and build on existing partnerships with major property firms and institutions.

Now more than ever optimal energy management is an essential demand of businesses and consumers and so by leveraging smarter digital technologies, we can significantly reduce carbon emissions whilst making buildings more energy efficient. We look forward to supporting the Grid Edge team as they enter this exciting new business phase."
