The pre-seed funding will accelerate the rollout of the company flagship cloud emissions software.
Greenpixie builds scalable software tools that help businesses measure and reduce their digital carbon emissions. The company focuses on the environmental impact of cloud computing and online activities.
London-based Greenpixie has secured £250k in pre-seed funding to accelerate the development of its flagship cloud emissions tool. The investment round was led by Ascension, with participation from angel investors Christian Arno and Ross Johnson.
The capital will be directed towards expanding the firm and speeding up the production of Cloud NetZero, its system designed to tackle carbon output from cloud computing. The funding marks the first external raise for the enterprise as it addresses a significant gap in corporate carbon reporting.
Greenpixie was established after founders John Ridd and Will Tinney were introduced to the scale of digital carbon emissions. The business is currently preparing for the soft launch of its platform following high demand for its beta testing phase.
From the founder
"Until now, no one has taken responsibility for the staggering environmental impact of cloud computing. At Greenpixie we see Cloud NetZero as a rare business opportunity that can give the investment and productivity gains of scalable software, with an equally scalable positive impact on the planet – so we can bring sustainability to the digital world."
