British recipe box company Gousto has secured £50m in a share sale from existing investors, valuing the firm at $1.7bn. The fresh capital is intended to provide the business with additional cash reserves to navigate an uncertain economic climate.
The latest financing follows several previous funding events for the company, including a $150m equity and debt raise last year backed by SoftBank, HSBC, and Barclays, followed closely by a $230m secondary placement led by SoftBank VF2.
Gousto was established in 2012 by Timo Boldt and James Carter, who aimed to simplify home cooking by delivering measured ingredients and seasonal recipes directly to consumers.
