London-based biotechnology startup developing glycan biomarker diagnostics to measure biological ageing and track chronic inflammation.
London-based biotech startup GlycanAge has secured $8.7m in a funding round led by Fifth Quarter Ventures to advance its biological ageing diagnostics. The round drew participation from Guinness Ventures, BrightCap Ventures, South Central Ventures, Impetus Capital, Vesna Deep Tech VC, and Lightfield Equity, alongside existing backers LaunchHub Ventures and Kadmos Capital.
The newly secured capital will be deployed to develop hospital-ready diagnostic products, validate medical applications, and expand clinician access to glycan testing worldwide. GlycanAge intends to package its technology into indication-specific tools covering stress, cardiometabolic health, weight management, and hormones, alongside developing lab-developed tests for hospital and reference laboratory settings.
The company's platform measures glycans to capture modifiable immune responses, contrasting with static genomic blueprints by providing real-time tracking of biological age and inflammation. Its technology is currently utilised in longevity clinics and has recently seen initial deployment for routine cardiometabolic risk screening at St. Catherine Speciality Hospital in Zagreb.
