The London-based fintech has raised capital from private investors alongside match funding from the government Future Fund.

£2.5MSeries B

Glint Pay is a financial technology company that enables customers to use physical gold and other currencies as everyday money through a mobile application and Mastercard. The firm securely stores client gold holdings in Swiss vaults.

Glint Pay has raised £2.5m in a Series B follow-on funding round led by the UK government initiative Future Fund alongside private backers. The injection follows the recent launch of the company peer-to-peer transfer feature known as Glint It!.

Half of the capital was secured through private sources, with the remaining half matched by the state-backed Future Fund. The proceeds will be deployed to support the expansion of the mobile platform, increase active users, drive marketing activities, and recruit key personnel.

This latest transaction brings total funding secured by the fintech to over £24m since inception.

From the founder

"The UK government’s Future Fund has been hugely effective for many businesses and is a welcome addition to the business finance landscape, especially in the current climate. The fund is part of the government’s desire to support the UK’s most innovative companies to flourish and to drive economic growth. This fundraising will accelerate our international expansion as well as attract additional future investment sources, from both within the UK and externally."
