The funding round was led by Mercia to support team growth and international expansion.
GeckoLabs provides software platforms that help universities recruit and engage students. Its technology is used across the UK higher education sector and internationally.
Scottish education software firm GeckoLabs has secured £1.8m in new funding to expand its operations in North America and grow its headcount. The investment was led by Mercia, with participation from the Scottish Investment Bank and existing angel investors, bringing the company's total funds raised to £3m.
The capital will support the business as it opens a New York office and scales up its product development following recent launches such as its chatbot. The expansion is expected to create new roles across the UK and North American markets.
The company's platform, GeckoEngage, is currently utilised by more than half of the UK higher education sector alongside nearly 30 clients across the US and Canada.
