Fluidstack is a cloud computing startup that leases high performance compute capacity to organisations developing heavy duty artificial intelligence models.
Fluidstack is negotiating a funding round of nearly $700m that will value the cloud computing startup at around $7bn. The potential transaction is being led by investment firm Situational Awareness, with Google exploring participation and Goldman Sachs acting as banker.
The capital injection follows a surge in demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure as tech groups race to secure computing power. Fluidstack provides high performance compute capacity and has previously executed major infrastructure deals involving debt financing and corporate backstops.
The company recently relocated its headquarters to New York from the UK and maintains ambitious international plans, including a proposed supercomputer facility in France. Its existing customer base includes major enterprises such as Meta and Honeywell.
