FloodFlash secures $15m Series A investment led by Buoyant Ventures
Buoyant Ventures led the Series A round to fund international expansion and close the flood protection gap.
FloodFlash provides parametric insurance technology designed to settle catastrophic flood claims rapidly. The firm combines computer models with connected sensors to offer cover for underserved markets.
Parametric insurance technology provider FloodFlash has raised a $15m Series A round led by Chicago-based Buoyant Ventures. The capital will support the company as it targets international expansion into markets including the US, Germany, Australia, and Japan.
Participation in the round came from Munich Re Ventures, Sony Financial Ventures, MS&AD Ventures, and PropTech1, alongside existing backers Pentech, Local Globe, and Insurtech Gateway. The raise follows a recent capacity partnership between FloodFlash and Munich Re.
Founded in 2019, FloodFlash aims to address the global flood protection gap through sensor-driven policies that provide rapid claims settlements. The firm intends to scale its operations internationally to counter growing climate risks.
