Epoch Biodesign develops enzymatic recycling technology to transform plastic and textile waste into industrial chemicals.
Epoch Biodesign has raised £9m in new funding led by Extantia and Kompas VC. The London-based biotechnology firm will direct the capital towards constructing its largest demonstration facility to date for recycled nylon 6.6.
The financing follows a Series A round secured last year and brings the company past £50m in total funding. Additional participants in the latest round include lululemon, Happiness Capital, and Leitmotif.
The new facility is designed to validate the company process at commercial scale, serving as a bridge between laboratory innovation and industrial deployment. Epoch aims to bring a full commercial-scale biorecycling plant online by 2028.
