Fife-based Epipole produces handheld retinal imaging equipment that allows clinicians to capture video scans of the retina for detailed examination.

Fife-based retinal imaging specialist Epipole has secured £1.3m in a follow on growth round led by Greenwood Way Capital, with participation from Scottish Enterprise. The newly acquired capital will be used to expand the company presence within the global ophthalmic imaging market.

Epipole produces a handheld device named epiCam, which enables clinicians to record real-time video scans of the retina. High-quality diagnostic images can then be extracted from these video streams for further clinical examination.
