The funding from the Sustainable Innovation Fund will support research and development for remote industrial battery management systems.
enee.io is a technology firm that designs advanced energy monitoring systems and intelligent software solutions for renewable energy management. Established in Manchester, the company provides tools to track consumption and improve efficiency in the off-grid sector.
Manchester based enee.io has secured £170k in grant funding from Innovate UK through its Sustainable Innovation Fund. The capital will support the business as it accelerates research and development for its remote battery monitoring technology. The funding package allows the company to hire two full time software developers and prepare for domestic and international product launches.
The firm provides automated monitoring for backup power batteries used in critical infrastructure such as hospitals and data centres. Its platform combines internet of things hardware with cloud software to track battery health continuously, eliminating the need for manual technician site visits. Leadership expects the technology to improve reliability for domestic backup systems and support renewable energy deployment in developing markets.
From the founder
"This is a really exciting time for enee.io. The Innovate UK grant will enable us to expedite the development process and bring forward the launch of a viable product which we believe will have a significant impact on both the future of industrial battery management in the UK and the uptake of renewable power globally, particularly in developing economies."
