Emergex raises £8.4m in Series A funding from Vickers Venture Partners to advance vaccine pipeline

Emergex is a British biotechnology company developing set-point T-cell vaccines to prevent serious infectious diseases. The firm employs synthetic peptide codes delivered via gold nanoparticle carriers to prime the immune system against viral pathogens.

Emergex has secured £8.4m in Series A funding led by Vickers Venture Partners. The capital will support the biotechnology company in advancing its clinical pipeline, including Phase I trials for its dengue and influenza vaccines, alongside preclinical development for its filovirus programme.

The investment allows the firm to progress its platform technology, which uses synthetic peptides and nanoparticle carriers to prime immune responses against virulent diseases. Vickers Venture Partners takes a seat on the board as part of the financing, bringing strategic support to scale the business.

The Abingdon-based firm achieved several operational milestones over the preceding year, including establishing a research facility near Oxford and securing collaborative research agreements in Singapore and Brazil. The new funds will enable the team to expand peptide libraries and drive lead vaccine candidates further into clinical development.
