Eatron develops an intelligent automotive software platform spanning the edge and the cloud to optimise performance, efficiency and safety in electric vehicles.
Automotive software scale-up Eatron has secured £8m in a Series A funding round led by MMC Ventures. The round also saw participation from Aster Capital and Vinfast.
Headquartered in the UK with a research and development centre in Istanbul, the company has developed a modular platform for electric vehicles that combines edge software with cloud analytics. The fresh capital will be deployed to expand development teams across the UK, Turkey and China, alongside growing sales operations in Germany, India and the US.
Eatron has reported significant commercial traction, with revenues multiplying over the past year. The firm plans to use part of the proceeds to forge new partnerships for third-party software modules and hardware components as it prepares for major production rollouts.
From the founder
"Mobility and Automotive in particular, is in the middle of a dramatic transformation and as part of this change needs to become a software-driven industry. Intelligent automotive software platform, embedded at the edge and connected to the cloud, will play a critical role in this transformation. For Eatron, this is a platform and data play – where we make a big difference with a unique synthesis of functional safety, machine learning, advanced controls, connectivity and cloud analytics for production grade customisable automotive software components. This helps OEMs and Tier-1s to develop connected intelligent software-defined electric vehicles faster, better, and hence enables them to stay ahead of their competition"
