Dragon Fire Doors has secured £35k in funding from the Development Bank of Wales to support the expansion of its commercial fire door maintenance and fitting operations.
Established in 2015, the Conwy-based company provides certified fire safety services to the social housing sector and other commercial clients. The latest capital follows a previous micro-loan in 2022 and will be directed towards purchasing materials required to fulfil an increasing volume of orders.
Changing legislation and stricter fire safety standards have driven heightened demand for certified fire doors. The investment aims to enable the business to capitalise on these favourable market conditions.

"Changing legislation and an increased focus on fire safety means that there is increasing demand for certification on fire doors. The bulk of our work is in the social housing sector but we also fit doors for building contractors, developers and landlords. The first loan from the Development Bank enabled us to emerge from the pandemic with renewed optimism for the future of the business so we invested in additional tooling and fleet vehicles plus a new unit at the Westbourne Centre in Rhyl. This latest loan will be used to fund the purchase of the materials that we need to fulfil our growing order book."
