Distology

£120MGrowth

Distology is a specialist cyber security distributor representing IT security vendors across EMEA. The business operates from Manchester alongside an office in The Netherlands.

NorthEdge has completed a growth private equity investment in Distology to support the cyber security distributor as it expands its services and European footprint. The funding originates from NorthEdge's SME Fund and follows a period of consistent revenue growth for the Manchester-based business. Alongside the capital injection, Liam May from NorthEdge is joining the board, and Andy McEwan has been appointed as Chair to assist with international expansion.

Distology represents vendors of cloud-based cyber security software and works to protect digital estates against rising threats. The backing will enable the company to capitalise on surging demand within the cyber security market and strengthen ties with its strategic vendors and partners. Hayley Roberts continues to lead the firm as CEO alongside her management team.

Investor perspective

"Cyber security has quickly become one of the largest high-growth markets with revenues in the sector nearly doubling between 2017 and 2020. The impact of COVID-19 has led to widespread remote working and the increasing threat of more sophisticated cyber-attacks are likely to drive long term demand in the sector."
