DefiniGEN secures £3.3m in funding led by BGF to scale operations
BGF led the round with participation from 24Haymarket to support US expansion and site growth.
DefiniGEN provides human cell products and services, creating predictive disease cell models for preclinical research and drug development.
DefiniGEN has secured £3.3m in a funding round led by BGF, with participation from existing backer 24Haymarket. The company will use the capital to expand its US footprint, scale up its Cambridge facility, and develop its gene-editing capabilities.
Born as a spin-out from the University of Cambridge, DefiniGEN specialises in producing predictive disease cell models using induced pluripotent stem cells. These models assist biopharmaceutical companies in screening potential drug candidates more efficiently, particularly in therapeutic areas such as liver disease.
