CSignum raises £6m in Series A funding to expand underwater wireless technology
The round was led by Archangels, Par Equity, and Scottish Enterprise to accelerate product development and international growth.
CSignum provides wireless technology that transmits critical Internet of Things data from submerged and underground environments to above-surface networks. The firm serves sectors such as utilities, maritime, and offshore energy with its patented electromagnetic field signalling systems.
CSignum has secured £6m in a Series A funding round to scale its underwater and underground wireless communication technology. The investment was co-led by Archangels, Par Equity, and Scottish Enterprise, with participation from British Business Investment, Raptor Group, Deep Future, SeaAhead's Blue Angel Network, and individual US investors. The capital will be directed toward expanding the engineering team, advancing the product portfolio, and strengthening market presence.
The company's electromagnetic field signalling technology allows data to transmit reliably through water, ice, soil, rock, and concrete. This capability supports environmental monitoring, maritime operations, and infrastructure security for assets such as offshore wind turbines. CSignum intends to address rising regulatory demands, including real-time monitoring mandates for water quality.
