Constructive Bio is a synthetic genomics startup that rewrites genomes to build novel biomolecules and sustainable materials. The company originated as a spinout from the University of Cambridge.
Constructive Bio has raised $58m in the first close of its Series A financing round to advance its synthetic genomics technology. The investment was led by Ahren, OMX Ventures, and Paladin Capital Group, with participation from Fine Structure Ventures, +ND Capital, and Jonathan Milner. The company will use the capital to further develop its platform for creating new biomolecules and therapeutics.
Founded in 2022 as a spinout from the University of Cambridge, the firm turns living cells into biofactories for sustainable materials and pharmaceuticals. Sir Gregory Winter has joined the board as an Ahren representative as part of the transaction.
