Whitehelm Capital backed the smart city operator to scale digital networks and internet of things services across British municipalities.
Connexin operates smart city infrastructure and internet of things platforms for municipalities and utilities. The firm builds programmable digital networks to improve urban services and community wellbeing.
Smart city operator Connexin has raised up to £80m in private equity growth capital from Whitehelm Capital. The funding will support the expansion of the business to meet growing demand for smart networks and digital infrastructure across UK cities. Whitehelm Capital, an independent infrastructure manager, provided the capital and earmarked further funds for future investment through the partnership. The transaction reinforces the company position in the internet of things sector following previous deployments in Hull and Sheffield.
