CONNECTCare secures £1m in grant funding from Innovate UK to digitise medicines data.
The medtech startup will use the fresh capital to bring its pharmacist digitisation software to market.
CONNECTCare builds software that turns siloed medical records into personalised insights to help patients and care teams manage medications safely. The firm was founded in 2021 by brothers Issa and Mehfuz Dasu-Patel.
Medical technology firm CONNECTCare has secured a £1m grant from Innovate UK to support the rollout of its software. The funding was delivered across two tranches, comprising £615k awarded in late 2022 and nearly £500k distributed recently.
The capital will enable the company to commercialise its technology, which uses an NHS number to integrate prescription data and provide personalised medication insights. The platform aims to help elderly patients avoid adverse drug interactions and prevent hospitalisations by flagging potential complications such as falls.
Chief executive Issa Dasu-Patel noted that the backing will allow the firm to scale its application and build a reliable single source of truth for medicines data. CONNECTCare currently employs a team of 12 people and plans to expand headcount as part of its ongoing growth strategy.
