Combat Medical has secured £2.6m in the first close of a Series A funding round to support its ongoing FDA registration trial. The investment was led by the T&J Meyer Family Foundation, with additional participation from Varia Ventures, the NW Angel Fund, and various non-institutional backers. The fresh capital will be directed toward advancing the HIVEC HEAT clinical trial, which investigates treatments for BCG unresponsive bladder cancer.
The company aims to establish its patented hyperthermic therapy as a viable alternative to radical cystectomy. By focusing on phase 3 clinical data generation, Combat Medical seeks to offer clinicians a safer and more tolerable bladder-sparing option.
