CoComply secures £1.9m from Mercia and Haatch to expand contractor compliance platform

The funding round was led by Mercia Equity Finance and Haatch to drive product development and international sales.

£1.9M

CoComply provides compliance software that helps businesses identify and classify external workers hidden within supplier contracts.

UK compliance software provider CoComply has secured £1.9m in new funding to support its workforce visibility platform. The investment was led by Mercia Equity Finance, a vehicle managed by Mercia Ventures, alongside early-stage backer Haatch. Additional participants in the raise included industry figures Richard Law, Seb Timpson, and Stephen Cann, who is set to join as chair.

The capital will be directed towards product development as well as scaling sales, marketing, and delivery operations domestically and internationally. The financing follows regulatory updates including widened Right to Work checks and ongoing IR35 requirements, which have increased corporate demand for outsourced workforce oversight.

From the founder

"Despite growing reliance on external workers in every industry, many businesses still struggle to answer a very basic question: how many people actually work for us, what are they doing and how are they engaged? That becomes a serious governance and compliance problem when responsibility is spread across business functions. Our mission is to provide the decision and governance layer across these teams, helping them choose the right engagement model and classify work correctly from the outset"

Investor perspective

"CoComply is tackling a significant and often overlooked challenge for businesses, with a platform that gives organisations much-needed visibility and control over their external workforce. We’ve been impressed by the team’s first-hand understanding of the problem, the traction they’ve built and the opportunity to establish a new standard for workforce compliance"
