Coblum secures funding from the RCA Design and Innovation S/EIS Fund to advance its automated CPR device
The investment will support product development and regulatory navigation for the public cardiac arrest solution.
Coblum is a medical technology startup developing an automated chest compression device designed for public use in cardiac emergencies.
Coblum has secured investment from the RCA Design and Innovation S/EIS Fund, backed by the Royal College of Art and Infinity Asset Management. The capital will support the MedTech startup in advancing its automated CPR solution towards a working prototype and navigating regulatory approval processes.
Sudden cardiac arrest represents a major cause of mortality globally, with the vast majority of incidents happening outside hospital environments. Although defibrillators are increasingly accessible, they require pairing with effective chest compressions, which untrained bystanders often find difficult to perform.
Coblum has engineered a patent-pending device intended for rapid deployment by single users without prior training. The latest funding provides critical support as the company moves closer to commercialisation and broad public availability.
Investor perspective
"We are thrilled to welcome Coblum to our portfolio. Léo is an amazingly talented and hardworking founder who has identified a massive unmet need in emergency care. By making mechanical CPR accessible to the public, Coblum has the potential to significantly improve survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. This investment reflects our commitment to backing high-impact innovations that tackle real-world problems, and we look forward to supporting the team through their next phase of growth."
