The $1bn financing round was supported by a consortium of global investors led by firms such as Altimeter and GIC.
Checkout.com offers a full-stack online platform that simplifies payment processes for large global enterprise merchants. The company provides cloud-based payment solutions connected directly to local networks in key geographies.
Checkout.com has secured $1bn in a Series D funding round at a valuation of $40bn. The investment was backed by a group of primary participants including Altimeter, Dragoneer, Franklin Templeton, GIC, Insight Partners, the Qatar Investment Authority, Tiger Global, the Oxford Endowment Fund, and a west coast mutual fund manager, alongside existing investors.
The capital will support three primary initiatives: expanding operations in the United States, launching marketplace solutions, and strengthening the company's market position in Web3 technologies. The transaction follows a period of rapid growth and profitability for the payments processor.
