Edinburgh-based biotechnology firm Calcivis has secured £5m in funding to commercialise its dental imaging system. The investment round was led by the Scottish National Investment Bank with £4m, alongside £1m from the Investment Fund for Scotland through Maven Capital Partners.
The capital will support the company as it brings its flagship product to market in the United States following premarket approval from the Food and Drug Administration. Subsequent launches are planned for the UK and wider European markets, marking a significant step for the Scottish medical device sector.
