Matter develops microplastic capture and recycling technology designed for domestic and industrial applications.

Matter, a British microplastic innovation company, has secured $10m in a Series A funding round to scale its filtration technology and expand into commercial and industrial applications. The investment was co-led by S2G Ventures and SOUNDwaves, alongside participation from Regeneration.VC and Katapult Ocean.

The fresh capital will enable the company to develop solutions that capture microplastics before they enter waterways, moving beyond domestic laundry systems into large-scale industrial use. Matter currently employs a team of 24 and plans to recruit more than 30 additional staff in Bristol following the raise.
