HydrogenOne Capital Growth led the Series B round with support from IP Group, Parkwalk Advisors, BGF, and the UCL Technology Fund.
Bramble Energy is a London-based fuel cell company that has developed a printed circuit board fuel cell to reduce manufacturing costs and complexity. The company uses established production methods from the printed circuit board industry to solve key challenges in hydrogen fuel cell implementation.
Bramble Energy has secured £35m in a Series B funding round led by HydrogenOne Capital Growth. The round saw participation from existing backers including IP Group, Parkwalk Advisors, BGF, and the UCL Technology Fund.
The capital will be directed towards international expansion for the company's portable power products and continued development of its liquid-cooled fuel cell stack capability. IP Group committed approximately £10m to the financing, bringing its undiluted beneficial holding in the portfolio company to 32.3%.
Investor perspective
"Hydrogen, through its green production from electrolysis or its use in fuel cells to provide clean power, is critical for the transition to net zero. Bramble Energy brings a fundamentally different approach to these technologies, unlocking the deployment of hydrogen faster, more flexibly and at scale. We are delighted to contribute substantially to this significant funding round which will take Bramble to the next stage."
