Brainnwave provides an augmented business intelligence platform that combines machine learning and data visualisation to improve decision-making. The firm is headquartered in Edinburgh with operations in London.

Brainnwave has secured $10.2m in Series A funding from engineering and professional services firm Hatch. The investment establishes a co-venture between the two organisations to develop analytics applications combining Brainnwave technology with Hatch sector expertise. The fresh capital will fund a major recruitment drive, adding 100 skilled roles while expanding the company footprint in Edinburgh and London. Initial projects for the partnership will focus on environmental sustainability tools for sectors such as energy, metals, and mining.

The collaboration aims to help corporate clients and local authorities navigate complex environmental challenges following the COP26 climate conference. By pairing custom software solutions with deep industry knowledge, the partners intend to deliver actionable insights for climate strategy and urban planning. The deal gives the Scottish analytics firm direct access to a global client base.

From the founder

"This partnership made sense because both organisations are like-minded in their entrepreneurial approach, willingness to do things differently and challenge the status quo, and propensity to develop game-changing solutions. This co-venture was the ideal opportunity to combine Brainnwave’s unique tech stack and expertise with the deep industry relationships and sector expertise of Hatch to build things together, tackling some of today’s most important issues."
