Bimsense secures £575k from Mercia to expand building safety software capabilities

Bimsense

The funding from NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance will support the development of new compliance modules for high-rise residential properties.

£575K

Bimsense provides proptech software designed to help property owners navigate complex building safety regulations. Its primary platform supports compliance with the Building Safety Act through structured information modelling.

Hull-based proptech company Bimsense has secured £575k in fresh funding from NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance. The investment will enable the business to expand its software capabilities in response to recent regulatory changes in the construction sector.

The capital will be directed towards building new software modules designed to help property owners register high-rise residential buildings and compile safety case reports under the Building Safety Act. Bimsense originally launched its flagship platform, Operance, following seed backing from the same investor in 2020.

From the founder

"The new Building Safety Act has introduced the most sweeping reforms in living memory for the construction and residential property sectors. By bringing building intelligence together in one place, Operance can help them meet the challenge. NPIF and Mercia have backed us from the start and the latest funding will allow us to add new features and provide further support for the property industry."
