Better Boards raises £375k from the Development Bank of Wales and angels to scale technology

Cardiff-based board evaluation specialist Better Boards has secured £375k in funding to scale its operations and technology. The investment comprises £250k from the Development Bank of Wales and £125k from a syndicate of four angel investors.
Founded in 2014, the company provides evidence-based board evaluations and reviews for clients including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 firms. The new capital will be directed towards enhancing its technology platform and expanding in-house capabilities as demand grows for enhanced corporate governance.
Alex Leigh, investment executive at the Development Bank of Wales, noted that effective corporate governance remains vital for operational efficiency and risk mitigation. The backers plan to support the firm as it builds on years of academic and market research from its base in the Tramshed tech hub.
