Newcastle-based creative technology firm BeamXR has secured £532k in pre-seed funding, combining equity investment and public grant backing. The package includes £150k in equity from Creative UK through its Culture and Creative Investment Programme, matched by angel investors, alongside a £266k grant from Innovate UK.
The capital will be directed towards expanding the capabilities of the company streaming software development kit. Designed specifically for standalone extended reality headsets, the product allows developers and creators to stream gameplay simultaneously across platforms such as Twitch, TikTok and YouTube.
The transaction forms part of an ongoing investor partnership between Creative UK and Innovate UK aimed at supporting regional growth in the creative industries. Additional support for the business has been provided by the Innovation SuperNetwork.
