Béa Fertility secures £800k pre-seed funding led by Calm/Storm VC to launch at-home treatment

Healthcare start-up Béa Fertility has raised £800k in a pre-seed funding round to introduce its at-home fertility treatment to the UK market. The investment was led by Calm/Storm VC alongside participation from QVentures, with additional support from an InnovateUK SMART competition innovation grant. The newly secured capital will support the company as it prepares to launch its monthly subscription service and widen access to alternative conception methods.
The company was founded by Tess Cosad and embryologist David O'Rourke to address the financial and emotional burdens associated with traditional clinical procedures such as intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilisation. Béa Fertility aims to establish an intermediate step on the fertility pathway by enabling couples to perform intracervical insemination safely at home.
