Baanx raises £15.7m in Series A funding backed by Ledger, Tezos Foundation, Chiron and British Business Bank.

The cryptocurrency payments specialist secured the Series A round to fund its expansion into the US and Latin America.

Baanx is a cryptocurrency payments specialist authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and operates the Ledger card product. The London based firm provides connectivity for Web3 wallets and stablecoins.

Baanx has secured a £15.7m Series A funding round to support its expansion into the US and Latin American markets later this year. The investment came from backers including Ledger, Tezos Foundation, Chiron and the British Business Bank, lifting the firm total funding above $30m.

The cryptocurrency payments specialist, which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, recently secured a three-year partnership with Mastercard covering the UK and Europe. The company currently counts over 150,000 users and operates its own native BXX token alongside its non-custodial on-chain products.
