AVIEL Intelligence raises £350k in pre-seed funding led by Fuel Ventures to expand its anti-fraud platform.
Fuel Ventures led the pre-seed round to support product development and international growth.
AVIEL Intelligence delivers actionable intelligence and uses AI personas to help banks and payment service providers prevent financial scams in real time. The company launched from stealth to tackle the rising wave of authorised push payment fraud.
AVIEL Intelligence has secured £350k in a pre-seed funding round led by Fuel Ventures. The round also features participation from Cambridge Angels and cybersecurity angel investors. The company will direct the capital toward accelerating product development and expanding its go-to-market presence across the UK and international markets.
The startup provides a proprietary intelligence engine designed to intercept financial scams before funds leave customer accounts. The technology deploys artificial intelligence personas to interact with fraudsters across digital channels, gathering critical intelligence on illicit networks for high street banks and neobanks.
Demand for proactive fraud prevention has intensified following regulatory changes introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator in October 2024. Under these rules, payment providers face mandatory reimbursement obligations for victims of authorised push payment fraud, heightening the need for real-time detection systems.
