A Cambridge healthtech startup developing technology that turns everyday earbuds into continuous heart and lung monitors.

Cambridge-based healthtech startup auryx has raised $2m in pre-seed funding led by Celero Ventures, with participation from Ewor, Cambridge Enterprise Ventures, Vento, PurposeTech, and a group of angels. Founded in 2025 by an all-female team of scientists, the company is developing acoustic sensing technology that extracts physiological insights from the microphones already built into consumer earbuds.

The platform analyses acoustic signatures from the heart, lungs, and blood flow in real time to measure metrics such as respiratory rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure. By using existing hardware rather than requiring dedicated wearables, the startup aims to provide continuous, passive health monitoring without altering user behaviour.

The fresh capital will be directed towards further product development, securing hardware partnerships, and expanding the team.
