Cambridge-based Attention Exchange operates an advertising platform that uses open banking data to target consumers and rewards them directly for viewing ads.
Cambridge startup Attention Exchange has secured over £700k in funding from undisclosed backers to advance its open banking advertising technology.
Launched during the pandemic, the platform moves away from conventional browsing behaviour profiling. Instead, it relies on open banking to let brands reach consumers who agree to share spending habits, rewarding viewers directly via bank deposits for watching targeted advertisements.
The firm states that its system uses artificial intelligence to predict purchasing likelihood and tracks transactions to measure direct correlation with ad exposure. The approach has drawn interest from younger demographics, with more than 30,000 users connecting bank accounts and generating a click-through rate of 34% on the platform.
