Airship Services raises £500k in debt funding from Mercia to support product development
The funding was provided by NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance to help the hospitality software firm meet post-lockdown demand.
Airship Services provides customer relationship management and gift card software tailored for the hospitality sector. Its platforms help operators manage customer engagement and drive additional sales.
Airship Services has secured £500k in debt funding from NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance to capitalise on growing demand in the hospitality sector. The fresh capital will enable the business to further develop its technology and expand its team following a period of rapid customer acquisition during pandemic restrictions.
The Sheffield-based firm has increased its client base significantly and grown annual recurring revenue past £1m. The latest injection follows an initial investment by the same backer in 2019 and supports the company as bars and restaurants reopen across the country.
From the founder
"The past year has been one of the most difficult in living memory for hospitality operators and we have done all we can to help them survive. However, there is now a strong sense of optimism and operators are expecting a boom in business. The funding will help us to further develop the products and take advantage of the opportunities ahead."
Dan Brookman
CEO at Airship Services
Investor perspective
"The pandemic has increased uptake of technology and made hospitality firms more aware of its role in driving their business forward. Dan and the team have bucked the trend over the past year and with the hospitality sector now reopened, there is lots of potential for further growth."
